“It shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the LORD, so as to do them and not follow after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you played the harlot, so that you may remember to do all My commandments and be holy to your God.
“I am the LORD your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt to be your God; I am the LORD your God.”
Think about it.
When you're making your choices, when you're talking with others, when you're alone by yourself, how much are you leaning on Truth or your own emotions?
The Lord says in Numbers, not follow after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you played the harlot, so that you may remember to do all My commandments and be holy to your God.
Because our hearts want what we shouldn't want, and our eyes are pinned to the situation here and now. Neither of those stupid organs are prone to searching beyond themselves.
What is past the desire of what we shouldn't have?
Who does the forest of the tree we're stuck obsessing about belong to?
The King of Kings, Creator of the Universe, Savior of the World.
The Lord your God.
Don't be caught up by the liar in your chest and the situation you're trapped in by according to the liars in your head.
Write God's Word on your heart.
Follow His commandments.
For He is your salvation and your inheritance. He is your provision and your portion.
Then the LORD said to Aaron, “You shall have no inheritance in their land nor own any portion among them; I am your portion and your inheritance among the sons of Israel. ~Numbers 18:20
