He Sees, He Knows, He Loves You Anyway

Hiding.

Camouflage.

Pretending.

These traits are necessary for survival in the animal kingdom.

Funnily enough, we humans believe they are necessary to live the type of social lives we want.

We avoid.

We wear our Sunday best.

We smile or blank our faces.

We live like this because we believe if people knew exactly who we were in the dark, they would run. And rightly so. In the dark we commit our evilest deeds, cater to our society-shocking selves, and lie about how we don't care what others think.

Of course, if they knew our worlds would implode and we'd be stuck with nothing and no one.

The one person we don't have to hide from is Jesus.

He knows what we do in the dark.

He knows how much we fake our lives.

He loves us more than we can wrap our minds around.

For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

~Romans 5:6-8
