As a writer, reading a story, or watching a favorite movie, is a lot like the Operator staring into the Matrix code. While the unwitting layman only sees a black screen with alien code raining down in shades of green, the Operator sees "blonde, brunette, redhead."
As the Operator, we've trained our mind to see life beyond the code. The rabbit holes of choices, and possibilities presented to the characters before they're made. Being the Operator takes the fun out of the story for us, but there's one simple truth that even the Operators acknowledge.
Just because we can see all ends doesn't mean we know the choices they're going to make. Those are infinite.
